Why we're doing this

Short films are made with the same passion as any feature, and often with far less applause.

Too many brilliant stories play a few festivals, win a few hearts, and then go quiet. We want to give them the audience, recognition and support they've earned, and keep backing the people who make them.

ಕಿರುಚಿತ್ರಗಳಿಗೂ ಚಪ್ಪಾಳೆ ಬೇಕು.

Short films deserve applause too.

ಹೇಗೆ?

How it works

  1. Send your linkShare your film's link and a few details below.
  2. We watch itOur team sits down with every film, looking at quality, tone and audience fit.
  3. You hear backIf your film is selected, our team gets in touch about how and when we'll screen it.
  4. PremiereWe share the final terms and conditions, sign, and your film premieres on Sunday Talkies.

One small ask: for 6 months from its premiere, Sunday Talkies is your film's only public home online. That means the full film doesn't go up on any other YouTube channel, OTT or streaming platform, or anywhere else people can watch it. Festivals and screenings are completely fine. And if another platform comes calling, just tell us first and we'll work it out together.

Already signed a deal? If you've already signed a streaming or exclusivity deal with anyone else, tell us upfront. Films under an existing exclusive deal can't be considered.

ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳು

Questions you might have

What is Sunday Talkies?

Sunday Talkies is Vickypedia's way of giving short films made with passion a bigger stage. Selected films premiere on VickyPedia Kannada, where over 5 lakh subscribers already tune in for a good story.

Who owns my film?

You do. Copyright, story, characters and music stay with you and your team. We only offer a platform to show it.

Can I still send it to festivals?

Yes. Festivals and screenings are completely up to you, before, during and after your film is on our channel.

What about other platforms?

For 6 months from its premiere, please don't put the full film anywhere the public can watch it online: another YouTube channel, an OTT or streaming platform, or anywhere else. If a platform approaches you, talk to us first and we'll work it out together.

What if I already have a deal elsewhere?

Tell us upfront. If you've already given streaming exclusivity to someone else, we won't be able to take your film.

What about payment?

Once your film is selected, our team will get in touch to discuss the terms.

How long until I hear back?

We watch every film properly, so it can take a little time. If your film is selected, our team will reach out.

Can I send the video file?

Please don't. A private screener link (unlisted YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive) is all we need.
